FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lakeside Avenue Improvements Update and Traffic Advisory

From East 9th Street to East 26th Street

Expect additional traffic notices as improvements continue

CLEVELAND –As part of the City’s ongoing road improvements and upgrades, a new traffic pattern will be implemented August 3 on Lakeside Avenue from East 9th Street to East 26th Street.

During Phase 1, all eastbound traffic on Lakeside Avenue will be detoured onto Saint Clair Avenue. One lane of westbound traffic and one parking lane will be maintained on the north side of Lakeside Avenue while work is performed on the south side. Phase 1 is scheduled to be complete this month.

During Phase 2, the single lane of westbound traffic and the parking lane will be shifted onto the new south-side pavement and work will be performed on the north side. The start date for Phase 2 will be provided in the near future.

The construction project is administered by the Ohio Department of Transportation. It consists of milling and resurfacing existing pavement with new asphalt courses, full and partial depth pavement repairs, utility casting adjustments, ADA compliant curb ramps, and pavement markings.  The work is scheduled for completion October 31, 2017.

Contact the ODOT District 12 Construction Area Engineer, Jeffery A. Hebebrand, P.E. at 216-584-2155 with questions.

Editor’s Note: Road construction invariably presents hazards to the public. All travelers are urged to use caution in construction zones. Public safety and the safety of workers is a top priority.
