Session A: 8:30 - 9:30 AM

Lease Language – Keith Raker, Tucker Ellis LLP

This presentation will cover all the bases of lease language for commercial real estate professionals. Types of leases and rent, as well as lender issues will all be discussed in detail.

Energy as an Opportunity – Better Together Solar

Many aspects of energy will be covered in this session. The presentation will cover fundamentals of energy procurement, bill calculation, and energy tariff structures. There will also be a deep dive into solar energy, energy storage systems, and microgrids. The finance of these energy systems will also be discussed, including in the content of federal tax credits and renewable energy credits.

Improving Indoor Air Quality – Gabe Chick, Service Tech Corporation
This presentation will educate attendees on everything from the foundations of indoor air quality to common problem areas, industry standards and best practices, and widely varied solutions. Attendees will leave able to identify areas in their own buildings that might need attention, and will understand potential solutions.

Making the Shift from Wellness to Well-being – Jaclyn Helminiak, Georgia-Pacific Professional
Attendees will learn about ways to efficiently provide a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for their tenants and guests. Healthy restrooms, cafeterias, and breakrooms all contribute to high levels of morale and productivity, and all will be discussed.

The Use of Digital Imagery – David Cheyne, Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc.

Whether it improves the ability to ensure a more reliable façade assessment or record the status of a building condition at a point in time, digital imagery and photogrammetry techniques are now considered essential in managing and marketing a building. This session will walk attendees through drone, 360, and robotic panoramic imagery.

What you Should Know About OSHA – Glenn Miller, Compliance Technologies, Inc.

Especially with the “on again, off again” status of the COVID Emergency Temporary Standard and related legal challenges, how to properly prepare for increased OSHA enforcement of the COVID mandates and other OSHA safety regulations becomes even more challenging for building owners, commercial real-estate managers, and businesses in general.  This session will enable attendees to understand and be prepared for OSHA standards now and in the future.

Critical Response Readiness – Alex Boarman, Gardiner
This seminar will cover how to anticipate and prepare for a crisis at your facility. Attendees will learn what their operations procedure should be for mechanical, hydronic, and electrical emergencies in order to have a deliberate and effective response. Additionally, there will be a brief look at cyber security integration.

Expectations During the RFP Process – Chris White, Boak & Sons Roofing
During this session, all aspects of the roof replacement process will be discussed. Attendees will learn about developing RFPs, comparing different scopes of work from different contractors, understanding warranties, and planning for daily activities while roof replacement crews are on site. Hidden costs and exclusions will also be discussed.

Advanced Life Safety Systems in the Modern Era – Mark Maassen, Technology Install Partners
This session will dive into the needs of a building when it comes to Fire Alarm Systems - and overall security - to protect the people and property that reside inside. It will also cover modernized security systems and their benefits.
